The main focus of the research department is on hot forming, a key technology in the modern automotive industry. The challenges in this area are manifold and require constant further development and optimization. The R&D department has taken on this task and generated a large number of new concepts and ideas within a very short space of time. These innovative approaches are systematically pursued and integrated into the tools in order to always be able to offer customers the best possible solutions.
Cooperation with strong partners
Close cooperation with a large number of development partners is a key component of our success. These include customers, material manufacturers and renowned universities. These collaborations enable us to keep our finger on the pulse and integrate the latest scientific findings into our development processes. Following clear objectives for the coming years, a funded research project was submitted, which was positively assessed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG at the beginning of 2011. This funding opens up extended and more extensive research opportunities and strengthens the company's position as an innovation leader.
Initial results and future goals
Several innovative projects are currently running in parallel at weba. The first results of this work are already visible and show the potential of the research efforts. These results will be further validated and refined in order to meet the high quality standards that customers expect. Over the next three years, the focus will be on working through the development goals in a structured manner. The focus will be on further developing existing technologies and opening up new fields of application.
Leading through innovation and expertise
Through continuous innovation and technological progress, weba is constantly offering customers new possibilities for component production. The research and development department acts as the engine that drives the company into the future. The team's motivation, individuality and comprehensive expertise secure its leading position in the industry.
“A decisive step towards the future has been taken with the research and development department. The projects are already bearing fruit and we are convinced that we will continue to lead the way in high-level toolmaking thanks to our innovative strength and knowledge,” says Hannes Feuerhuber, Managing Director of weba.
